physiotherapy and other treatments at Norwich's Colman Hospital, he is now living normally.

This book is Richard's illustrated account of his recovery. It is for new stroke survivors, their families and other carers. His account also gives nursing staff, therapists and doctors new ways of looking at and thinking about a stroke patient's sensations and reactions.

Mixing the bland, the frank and the unexpected, Richard narrates and reflects on his progress. The book includes a transcription of the journal he kept, starting just a few days after the stroke. Through the journal and his comments and explanations, we see his early struggles and increasing confidence.
